If it is quite natural to fall in love with opposite sex, then why have parents been opposing from ancient days to this modern days? And moreover some "thelivana sindhanaiyulla" persons too telling "Love-e panna koodathu"? why? what is the reason behind this?
Hi doc its always been a pleasure reading your articles, so is this one too. I believe people are so much against "LOVE" as they are scared & worried that their offsprings might take the so called wrong path if we happen to have a day & celebrate it.(without a day itself there is so much for the poor parents to handle)Our culture had failed to bring forward many good things that was prevailing with our ancestors, i.e.indira vizha etc. But managed to push across lots of bad things which levy constraints on today's generation or generations together. And about your poet that's his profession so he praises love & gets money out of that. And may be he should have had an "NOT SO GOOD" experience with love which could have reflected in the LIVE program. But, finally it was another good & informative article that i had got to read. So "THANK YOU"
Hi Dr.Your article is highly informative and really hilarious.Hats off to your super cool attitude!Regards Sathya
I think in India, people tend to poke their nose in other's business and try to offend them by blowing up even silliest issues.I have seen many parents and other family members advising their friends and relatives when their girl/boy falls in love. Their advice is probably more offensive rather than making them feel that it is completely normal. For example, many must have heard this dialogue " enga payyan naanga kilicha kotta thaaanda maatan" they will go on and on bragging about their family virtues, their upbringing etc. Probably that is the reason for the people to get agitated when their own boy/girl falls in love. They wonder that the same people whom they were giving advice will have a chance now to hit them back and so they would say "Kudumba maanam mukiyam, velila thala kaata mudyathu"The second reason I would think is that, marriage is more like a business in India. Family members especially from the groom's side try to loot from the bride's family as much as possible through this arranged marriage system. Yes it is called dowry. And it still exists everywhere regardless of education, class or whatever. They just use some diplomatic words to ask for things. For example I have come across dialogues like " My friends and relatives are asking that how many grams of gold would the bride bring" " Can you buy these list of home appliances and furniture so that your daughter can use it when she comes to our place" Funniest thing is that I and my husband live in abroad, but god knows why we had to buy stuffs for my in laws home that I visit, may be once a year for a couple of weeks. All these might not be possible or may be a bit difficult if the boy is in love with the girl, so that makes them against it I believe.
Forget the poet Dr. Directly from doordarshan let him go to hell. The article is a well surveyed, researched one, expressed with scientific proofs and not with the imaginary poetic words (what is the connection between moon and a woman, I don't understand till today).I also remember your similar presentation on Vijay TV, Neeya Naana program. You spoke about love among mammals. We don't stop with one love only, you said.An average man (is it true for men only??)will have 6 or 7 love stories. But he will put his 100% in each one of them, but could have more than one, you said. How true??Except for the offsprings our family system would've collapsed.
oh how i enjoyed reading this one. these days the film personalities becuse they hv a fan following and media space talk raw abt love, esp man -woman love.even after two three, several love lives, they blame man-woman relationship whereas praise family and other bonds.they neither understood the science behind this, nor celebrated the chemistry of it. our young folk should realize this and stop them in theatres only.. do not let them into their drawing rooms thro, telivision and news papers.slowly remove them frm opinion making job.its the business of a realised being.

To show your identity, you need to differ from others. What a pity, they are feeling bad about that.
I don't know. But everybody who comes on air with you seems to be differing from you.
What is the use of saying something or doing something that doesn't attract publicity?
